After discussing some of the advantages of going online during our class presentation in the beginning of the semester, we touched upon several topics which included customer satisfaction, reduced supply cost, reduced intermediary cost, access, speed, worldwide exposure. More and more we are seeing businesses taking it to the next level and deciding to put their businesses online. If you have a business and you are not on the web this can hurt you tremendously. By having access to things online it can dramatically change the way your business is being done. In an article that I found entitled “Security systems go online”, its talks about how they took it to the next level and are putting themselves online. “The purpose of security and monitoring systems, says Darryl Roy, vice president of Charlotte-based CRS Building Automation Systems Inc., is to "make it difficult for people to commit a crime, and if they do, to increase the chances of their being caught.” The latest that this company has come up with is achieving there goal and also for less amount of money. Using technology you can attain things faster, easier, and cheaper. This is a very good incentive for people who are looking to do this with there business.

Special Events

Being a senior in college we all have a lot of important events coming up. Many of them are casual but we also have some that require us to dress a little more sophisticated. We have a commencement ball dance that is approaching and all the girls are looking for the right look. I have heard some people talking about getting a long gown, while others want to keep it simple and elegant and go with a shorter look. As I have been shopping for this occasion I have gone to many stores. Of course we all know which store I had to look at, J.Crew. When I started to look I went on the website and I went straight to the Weddings & Parties section. I knew this is where they displayed their fancier attire.
They have a very large collection this spring for weddings and parties. As I was browsing through I came across this breathtaking dress. It’s called Cotton Cady Strapless Claudine dress. It is priced at $260.00. It has a straight neckline and it is fitted in the middle then full on the bottom. You can view this dress is a variety of different colors. This item is also only available on the site or catalog, along with most of their other dresses. The stores don’t have many dresses that they are selling so if you are looking for a dress remembers to get on to the site.
Also, not only can you look for a commencement ball dress here, you can also look for a graduation sun dress, and also a dress for the family dinner dance sacred heart is hosting. It is hard to believe that we are all graduating pretty soon in this marketing class so I thought it would be appropriate to help all the girls out but filling them in on all that J.Crew has to offer.

On April 21, 2008 John posted on his blog all about YouTube and how it is being pushed so directly into Google’s search results. After reading what he has to say about this I have to say that I am not at all shocked to hear about this. YouTube is one of the tip video sites that we have today. If you were to go into a classroom and ask kids how many times that go onto YouTube you couldn’t believe how popular this has become. I just recently within the pas year discovered YouTube. I always heard about people going on an searching got different things but now that I am aware that its there I find myself going on it daily to find out about different things. I think it is good the Google is now linking itself with YouTube.

.After looking at some of the blog posts on John’s Blog I wanted to talk about his latest one. So what do people really think about Brand advertising? A quote that he has posted on his blog I also wanted to share on mine.

"Google's making a public statement that the only value of a banner is when it's clicked upon, and it flies in the face of all the research done in the last five years that demonstrates the impact a banner can have on brand awareness and purchase intent," said Dave Moore, CEO of 24/7 Real Media, a New York-based company that sells advertising for 800 sites worldwide.

We are surrounded by so many different types of brands on a daily basis we sometimes don’t even realize it. Our society today is so concerned with the brands that are out there. We always want to see labels and signature trade makes on products. This has a serious effect on people and to some it is a major reason to buy a certain type of product. If I was in advertising I would want to look into brand advertising to try and help me out. Google can play a major role in this whole process. I will be interesting to see how this will work years down the road.

As part of our class, we were asked to find a blog related to our topics. I then went to google and i typed in "fashion blogs" as I was looking I came across a blog called "Shopaholics Anonymous". This is a blog that was created all about fashion. It is the ladies opinions on new things that are out and she gives useful tips. I even commented on one of her posts.

J.Crew at the Beach……

The weather we have been having is awesome. It makes everyone want to get out and go relax at the beach. I know when I go to the beach I always want to have the perfect bathing suit, cover up and most importantly beach bag. The selection J.Crew has at the moment is awesome. I was on the website over the weekend and I came across a beautiful linen tunic. This is something that you can wear as a cover up to the beach or you can also dress it up and go out to a nice casual dinner in it. They also have a variety of new bathing suits. Many are in different styles so you are able to choose what works for you. The beach bag that I choose this week for one of the features items I think is a perfect beach bag. It’s white, big and goes with everything!

Jewelry

What’s your favorite piece of Jewelry?

When putting together a fabulous outfit, what is the last thing a girl needs? Jewelry would definitely be most people answers. J.Crew has been working on there line very hard and has been expanding it every season. It seems to do very well. They offer necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. In addition to all of that they also have a special line called the Fine Jewelry Collection where they have there higher priced items in that area, including exquisite peals. With such a colorful spring and summer line the jewelry pieces that they have created go perfectly with the jewels they have. One of my favorite necklaces is the Bubble necklace. Its 18K gold plated brass with hand set enamel stones and beads and has a lobster clasp. All items are made with the best quality materials and some are even hand painted!!

Let’s talk about shoes

What girl doesn’t love shoes? J.Crew has a variety of styles that they offer. You have everything from the embroidered critter flip flop to the Liza patterned peep toe heel. With such an enormous selection to choose from, you can find anything you are looking for. Most stores do have a selection of shoes that you can try on, although a lot of them are catalog/j.crew.com only. My personal opinion is, I love all the kinds of shoes they have. I have an array of their flip flop collection. They are my favorite to where in the summer. You have so many colors to shoes from. The dressier shoes they have are also very comfortable. I have purchased shoes for weddings and dances which I have also enjoyed and lastly, this past winter I purchased my first pair of wellies.

I hope you all love the selection of shoes as much as I do!

Spring is in the air....

Spring is here

As you all know summer is right around the corner and everyone always wants new looks. J.Crew has created a variety of different styles for everyone to love. As you can see if you look to the right of the page right now you can see some of the new arrivals that have just come out this month. One of my favorite looks from the new arrivals this week is the Italian paper- poplin raincoat. It is midweight cotton. This chic little jacket was made with an Italian fabric. This is perfect for the spring and summer. Not only is it very stylish it would come in very handy to just throw on with any outfit. This coat comes in three other colors besides the creamy yellow that is featured in the picture. All of the new looks that have been coming out seem to be very bright and colorful. If you are taking a trip or just need a weekend outfit J.Crew will have what you are looking for.

While shopping in the stores that are located in most malls and in towns the sales men and women are very helpful to help you find a look for any occasion. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer looks as much as I am!!
